Day 1 : BANGKOK
- We visit the splendid Grand Palace, as well as Wat Pho. The afternoon is free to enjoy many of the other sights in Bangkok; Chainatown, the Nationnal Museum, Vimanmek Palace or Jim Thompson's house to name but a few.
Day 2 : AYUTTHAYA
- Capital of Siam until the 18th Century, Ayutthaya is a UNESSCO World Heritage site and a stunning complex of palaces, shrines, stupas and monasteries. We will spend the afternoon visiting the main sights including Wat Chaiwatanaram, Si Sanaphet and Mongkol Bophit.
Day 3 : KORAT
- Driving into the heart of Isaan,we visit the beautifully restored Prasat Phimai. Built in the 12th Century, Phimai used to lie on direct route to Angkor Wat and is now one of the best preserved Khmer monuments in the country.
Day 4 : SURIN
- Our second Khmer temple at Phnom Rung is beautifully situated on top of an extinct volcano Climbing up the many steps to the temple, we are rewarded with amazing views into the foothills of Cambodia and onto the plains below.
Day 5 : SISAKET
- Only recently opened, Prasat Vihear is stunningly situated hight up on a mountain has recently been reopened and is now accessible from Thailand. We will visit this sight before continuing to Sisaket.
Day 6 : KHON KEAN
- We continue to the heart of Isaan, Khon Kaen, where sticky rice and grilled chicken snacks reign! The evening is free to visit the hordes of street vendors and the night markets of this city. This part of the country is rarely visited by tourists and thus provides an intersting place to spend some time.
Day 7 : SUKHOTHAI
- Driving through two of Thailand's National Parks, we arrive at Siam's first capital, founded in the 13th Century, and which has now been fullyexcavated. It comprises 21 historical sites within the city walls and a further 70 outside. We will visit the main temples onfoot or on bicycle including the stunning Wat Maharat.
Day 8 : CHIANG MAI
- Continuing north, we arrive in Chiang Mai and we take a leisurely stroll aroud the older parts of the city to including the city wall and markets.
Day 9 : CHIANG MAI
- To day we drive to Doi Suthep and climb to the mountain top temple with amazing views down to Chiang Mai below. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the amazing markets of this mountain set town.
Day 10 : BANGKOK
- We fly back to Bangkok to connect with your flight home, or you can continue to Ko Samet or Ko Chang for a few days relaxing on the white sand beaches.
